What are the main event types in DockDogs®?
Big Air — Distance Jump
Your dog runs down the dock and leaps into the water after a toy. Distance is measured from the end of the dock up to where their tail breaks the water. Perfect for dogs who love a long jump and making a big splash!
Extreme Vertical — Height Jump
Your dog jumps high to catch a bumper toy held above the water. Starting from the 20-foot mark on the dock, this event tests agility and timing, rewards a lot of enthusiasm, and sometimes a funny flop!
Speed Retrieve — Timed Swim & Fetch
A bumper toy is suspended above the water, and when the start light goes green, your dog races across the dock, leaps, and retrieves the toy. Time is measured from start to finish. It’s great for dogs who thrive on challenge and fun.

Is the pool Chlorinated?
Our pool isn’t chlorinated — we use a mineral salt system instead. This provides excellent water quality while being much gentler on fur babies.
Mineral-treated water reduces the harsh chemical exposure often associated with traditional chlorine pools, helping minimise skin dryness, coat damage, eye irritation, and strong chemical odours. Many dogs, particularly those with sensitive skin find it far more comfortable to swim in.
The environment also supports overall comfort during and after activity. Swimming itself is low-impact and easy on joints, and the softer, balanced water helps dogs relax and cool down more effectively following exercise or training. This can be especially beneficial for older dogs or those involved in regular sport.
While it’s not a medical treatment, using mineral salts is a thoughtful choice that prioritises wellbeing while maintaining a clean, safe, and enjoyable swimming experience.
Why is Dock Diving good for my dog?
Dock diving is a fantastic activity for dogs of all ages and abilities. Because the landing surface is water, it’s a low-impact sport that’s gentle on joints, making it suitable even for older dogs when introduced appropriately.
It provides excellent physical exercise while also engaging their mind — building confidence, focus, and overall fitness. Beyond the health benefits, it’s a fun and rewarding sport that strengthens the bond between you and your fur baby.
There’s also a strong sense of community around dock diving. Events and training sessions bring together like-minded dog lovers, creating a supportive and enjoyable environment whether you’re participating competitively or just having fun.
What's the minimum age requirement?
Dogs need to be at least 6 months old to participate, and they must have all vaccinations up to date.

Keep an eye on our announcements for upcoming event dates — we’d love to see you there!
